View Church StaffECV is part of the Association of Vineyard USA Churches, a community of churches that took shape in the 1970s and early 1980s in the wake of the Jesus Movement in Southern California. Today, the Vineyard has churches in 95 countries, including around 500 churches in the USA.
The Vineyard Core Values give meaning to all that we do as the Vineyard movement. They drive our purpose and define what is central to us.
Beginning In 2004 as a home group, Elm City Vineyard Church was born out of a growing community of friends focused on relationships with one another and God through prayer, worship, and Bible study.
As an official home group of the New Haven Vineyard called 180Colony, the community expanded to include many people outside of the church. By 2007 some of the community had begun wondering “What is God up to?” Eventually, the answer became clear: “God is planting a church.
In September 2007, Elm City Vineyard Church was sent out as a church plant from the New Haven Vineyard under the leadership of Matt & Hannah Croasmun and Caleb & Kathy Maskell.
From the very beginning we have embraced the model of team leadership born of friends following Jesus together. Our foundation is built upon the strength of diverse teams, who teach and lead worship on Sundays and who foster close-knit communities within our church. The result is a culture in which everyone's unique contribution is valued and celebrated.
We believe that when we are faithfully walking out Jesus's ministry in the world, we can expect our church to reflect diversity as Jesus welcomes each one.
