What does that home feel like? Are we returning there or heading home for the first time? In this teaching series called Home, we explore God’s big picture of Home throughout the scriptures. Along the way, we will navigate the tensions of the now and not yet of wanting home while not fully being at home. Lastly, we will learn how this God of ours, ultimately, wants us to prepare for a home that is coming and that is here.
This Sunday, in the second installment of our three-part sermon series on Home, Tina will be sharing Scripture’s mysterious call for us to live as foreigners and strangers here on earth, tethered to a Kingdom not of this world. While the logic of American citizenship would have us fight for belonging in an established place within set borders, the Kingdom of God invites us into a different Way - following Jesus as immigrants here while we hold fast to our citizenship in heaven. As we journey with Jesus as aliens and nomads among the empires of this land, there is beautiful freedom and home in store for us. Come join us this Sunday to hear more.
