Read a greeting card or a holiday ad, and it’s clear enough: Christmas is supposed to be a season marked by joy. Sometimes that’s a joy we can easily enter into. Sometimes it takes work. Sometimes it can seem like a burden, as if, on top of whatever we’re dealing with, we also have to figure out how to be happy about it all. This week, Matt lead us as we consider the true joy of Advent: what it means to rejoice in hope, rejoice in the truth, and to rejoice always (but not only). At the end of the day, there really is a special sort of joy available to us in the coming of Christ: much more profound and much more enduring than what often passes for “Christmas joy.” Join us as we lean into the peculiar joy of Advent.
