Lent is a time to come closer to God and to others through disciplines that lean into, yep…sacrifice and limitation. Why do we do this? Isn’t it a little crazy? Too intense? Well, we know that Jesus shows us a sacrificial way for us that connects us to him and to one another. Could we follow his example? The letter to Hebrews that we’re studying during Lent says it this way, we can draw near God because his blood – his sacrifice — opens up a new and living way for us.
