Godly Resistance, Loyalty, & Subversion: In our Nonviolence series, we’ve heard challenging words of Jesus that have opened up possibilities for a nonviolent life. Last week (link to last week’s talk), we learned that when we are wronged or have lack we can ask God and others for what we want instead of resorting to any form of violence — including passive or indirect options like gossip or cutoff. This week, we’ll discuss what happens when asking does not work. When faced with injustice and wrongdoing, what do we do? This Sunday, Josh will unpack our options with two words for our resistance: loyalty and subversion. How might these words move us beyond fight or flight and help us face the situation with God?
