This fall, we’ve spent some time with Jesus’ words on neighboring and the Kingdom. This Advent, we’ll continue that theme by looking at Jesus’ instructions on prayer. When his followers asked him about prayer, Jesus taught them what’s come to be known as the Lord’s prayer. This prayer might be unfamiliar to some, or be seen as formulaic by others, but Jesus’ words are a gift to us. Jesus’ prayer reveals what’s important in life and gives us hope that we can receive it. Ultimately, Jesus reveals he is the connection to the Father that we’ve been waiting for.
