This Lent, our series is For the Joy: Looking to the Cross and Beyond. In the letter to the Hebrews, the author has this amazing line: for the joy set before him, Jesus endured the cross. Jesus had a difficult vision in front of him but somehow he was able to walk forward in present difficulty for the sake of future joy. What if God wants us to do the same? At ECV, we have a God-given vision that guides us that is fairly challenging. In this season, can we find the grace of God and even His joy as we consider the difficult things God has called us to in light of the vision God has given us? This Sunday, Josh will lead us into the Lenten season by examining this call to live “for the joy set before us” as we walk out a challenging vision.
