Lenten Prayer Rhythms @ ECV

Participate in corporate Lenten Prayer Rhythms.

At ECV, we want everyone (in lieu of of our usual Lenten journal) to commit to praying three times a day: a morning prayer, a daily noontime examen, and an evening compline. While any of these prayers can be done individually or communally, the first two fit an individual prayer habit very well and the last one can work well in a group setting. These three offerings are fixed prayers with words that are “gifted” for us.

In doing shared practices as a community, our prayer to God and our hope is that we will develop a shared heart that will allow us to receive the gift of unity, which is a gift from God — not only derived from shared agreement.

It was very early in the morning and still dark. Jesus got up and left the house. He went to a place where he could be alone. There he prayed. (Mark 1:35)
