Rest and Retreat is an important practice for everyone. Jesus can transform our tiredness into refreshment; our burnout into hope. Spiritual formation is a great way to care for our souls as we love and serve others. On Saturday, March 17th, you are invited to an ECV Spiritual Formation Retreat from 9:30am – 4:30pm at St. John’s Church in New Haven. Lunch and childcare will be provided. As far as cost, you will see that there are four main options: A ticket that includes lunch for adults ($15) A ticket without lunch for adults (this option is useful if you cannot stay with us for lunch) ($10) A ticket for a kid ($5); lunch is included A student ticket that includes lunch. ($10) We also have a pay what you can option. Bill Elander, the Pastor of New Haven Vineyard, and his wife Lanie Elander, co-planter, will lead us in our day together. They have led numerous spiritual retreats and have been great partners and friends with ECV. What Is Spiritual Formation? Spiritual Formation is the intentional pursuit to become more like Christ through our lifestyle and through a set of practices. Spiritual formation is always happening. It is simply a question of “How is your spirit currently being formed?” Why Is It Needed? Our lives are overun with activities, busyness, relationships, work, and more. None of these things are outright bad, but they can clutter our lives and leave us unable to answer the question, “How is your soul?” Spiritual formation aims to de-clutter our lives in order to see what remains when we are able to sit with ourselves and God.
