We are told that Christmas is “the most wonderful time of the year” but many of us enter the holiday season carrying hurt, pain, loss, anxiety and stress – especially in this year of pandemic – and find it less than wonderful. We want to enter into the merry-ness of the season but struggle. Our Blue Christmas service is a place to acknowledge our emotions and loss, and bring them to God and in our connection with Him, receive His peace, and yes, even joy in the midst of our hurt. We will look at the Christmas story and through some simple spiritual practices, see how the promise of Jesus, God with us, can be a place of comfort for us, both now in the Christmas season, and throughout the year.
