Blue Christmas Service
From 6:00 pm to 7:30 pmWe are told that Christmas is “the most wonderful time of the year,” but many of us enter the holiday season carrying hurt, pain, loss, anxiety, and stress—especially in this time of unrest and pandemic—and find it less than wonderful. We want to enter into the merry-ness of the season but struggle. Our Blue Christmas service is a place to acknowledge our pain and loss and bring them to God in lament and, in connection with Him, receive His comfort, peace, and, yes, even joy in the midst of our hurt. Through music, scripture, and lament, we will see how the promise of Jesus, God with us, can be a place of comfort for us, both now in the Christmas season and throughout the year. A light dinner will be served.
