We’re Looking for a Sunday Sexton

After several years of having a sexton supplied by FSUMC, ECV is looking to hire someone to be ‘first one in, last one out’ on Sundays with a set of duties including unlocking doors and turning on lights and performing a series of tasks connected to our weekly use of the building on Sunday afternoons.

This is a 4-6 hour every Sunday role with a monthly stipend with the potential of adding Tuesday evenings if mutually desirable.  Contact Josh if you’re interested.

Nonviolence Group | Mondays @ 8pm

The ECV Nonviolence Group wants to extend a special invitation for folks to go deeper in the work of nonviolence in connection with our current sermon series and introduce our wider church to the ongoing campaign our group has been involved in as ECV seeks to promote life in the face of death.

The group has hit some milestones that they want to share, and the next two Mondays have been designed to welcome anyone who wants to dive in and explore with us. Join the Nonviolence group this Monday at 8pm at 42 Hobart St, New Haven. Questions? Ask Josh.

Liturgy for Homicide | May 7th @ 3pm

We had a liturgy for New Haven’s first homicide victim of 2022 during Holy Week, and we’ll hold another on May 7 for Kieron Jones, a 17 year-old Hillhouse junior.

Join us on Saturday, May 7 at 3pm at the corner of Orchard Place and Charles St in New Haven for a liturgy that lifts up life, calls for weapons to be dropped, and comforts a grieving neighborhood and family.

At ECV, we try to respond to invitations to move forward in our faith journey. One important invitation for those who are committed to Jesus but have not been baptized is to pursue baptism, an outward act of an internal commitment to follow Jesus. E-mail Josh if you’re interested or have questions >
