Come Learn about ECV’s Nonviolence Campaign this Fall

TODAY after service, the nonviolence small group that has met over the summer will share their plan for the fall over dinner at church. As we seek how to pursue Spirit-led risks in light of Jesus’ resurrection, this group would love to share how God has led them to pursue a campaign for peace in light of our cities 50+ homicides since 2020. Over dinner, this collective will share briefly about nonviolence, our upcoming 9/17 action from 1:30 – 4:30pm (SAVE THE DATE! Details forthcoming), and a follow-up campaign in where we need your support.

Pizza on the Porch

Next Sunday (8/28) after church, we will celebrate our transition away from the summer season and into the school year with some classic New Haven pizza.
New to New Haven? Eager to start another school year? Want to chat with folk? Or just hungry? All are great reasons to enjoy community and pizza on the porch next week.
Stay tuned for more after church events in September as we seek to provide spaces to bless old and new connections.

Volunteer for Sprouts and Roots Relaunch

ECV’s VBS 2022 was a smashing success with lots of kids, lots of volunteers (including a stellar crew of high school Roots leaders, ECV interns, and week-long captains of food and crafts and more), and some superlative leadership work by Kyanna, Moriah, and Mandi in many months of preparation as well as throughout the week. To be there was to feel the love and witness the actual making of disciples among the kids of our community and New Haven more broadly.

We’ve heard so many encouraging things from parents about what God is doing in their kids’ lives but also from folks who served that, for all their hours in an un-airconditioned building with some fired up kids, they felt well-resourced, cared for, and directed as they loved and led our kids this week.

If you missed out (maybe you have a day job, maybe you were out of town…), the door is nonetheless wide open for you to join in on our Sprouts and Roots ministries  when they relaunch later this month (August 28).

Write Kyanna for Sprouts (through 5th grade) and Moriah for Roots (6th-12th) and stay tuned for more info about our relaunch plans over the next few weeks.
